Carolina signed Mays off the Giants' practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

The big, strong offensive lineman has experience at five positions in college football, but his future lies inside as a pro. Can match power with power but needs to get up the field faster on his blocks and improve his hand usage. Has good length and can hold his own against bigger defenders in an odd front, which could turn him into a full-time center at some point. Has ability as a drive blocker but has to be less stiff in pass protection.
Long Range Potential: Versatile interior offensive lineman.
