The Saints placed Hill (knee) on injured reserve Friday.
Hill was diagnosed with a season-ending ACL tear as well as additional damage to his left knee after undergoing further testing following Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Rams, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
A freakishly-good athlete, he is a one-of-a-kind player seldom seen in the NFL: a backup quarterback who also lines up at running back, wide receiver, in the slot and as a tight end. Oh, and he also returns kicks! Possesses a strong passing arm and elite running ability; he is often featured in the red zone as a read-option weapon. Can sprint out and beat defenders to the corner or bust open in the end zone. Is somewhat scattershot with his throws and lacks polish. His checkered college career was marred by a succession of crippling injuries.
Long Range Potential: Multi-purpose weapon and backup quarterback with exceptional versatility.
