Forsberg (knees) will miss the remainder of the regular season, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Forsberg is expected to require 2-to-3 months of recovery time after suffering MCL tears in both knees in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Edmonton, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. He was moved to injured reserve Monday.
The Swedish goalkeeper is still trying to translate his success at home and in the AHL into a full-time role in the NHL. Has good size (6’2”) but needs to fill out and add strength to maximize his skills. At his best, he is a butterfly netminder who likes to challenge shooters. Remains somewhat raw and needs work on his technique in order to become consistent enough to play at the NHL level.
Long Range Potential: Inconsistent but talented goaltender.
