Speed is his best attribute and helps make up for a lack of optimum size. He was a big scorer in junior hockey and put up good offensive numbers in the AHL, but his defensive chops are at the forefront in the NHL. His work ethic endears him to coaches, and he has the skills and skating ability to work his way up in the lineup.
