Coghlan was dealt to Winnipeg from Carolina for future considerations Saturday.
Scouting Report
The undrafted defenseman has solid offensive instincts and a big shot, attributes that attracted interest from NHL teams after his solid junior hockey career. He moves the puck well and is getting better in his own zone, though there is still work to be done. Additional experience should help him improve his all-around game.
Long Range Potential: Offensive depth defenseman.
