Adames passed his physical with the Giants Tuesday and the deal is officially done, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Adames signed a seven-year, $182 million contract with the Giants on Saturday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
His plus hands help him generate very good bat speed at the plate. Can hit the long ball but is also capable of producing a good batting average at all levels. Defensively, he boasts a very strong throwing arm. Is still growing, so he might outgrow the shortstop position over time. Therefore, he could lose some value at the big-league level if forced to move to either second or third base. Strikeouts are a bit of a problem.
Long Range Potential: Talented, powerful infielder with upside.
