The Dallas Mavericks acquired center Daniel Gafford from the Washington Wizards for center Richaun Holmes and a first-round draft pick in 2024. |
Gafford closed Saturday's 126-122 loss to the Trail Blazers with 15 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, five blocks and one steal across 28 minutes.
Gafford produced 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and two blocks over 29 minutes during Friday's 98-89 win over Phoenix.
Has good length for either the center or power forward positions at the National Basketball Association level. Is also an exceptional athlete, so that helps him defend down low and pick up a lot of "garbage" points in the paint. Could stand to add even more bulk and become stronger (especially for the center position) at the highest level. He also needs to continue to work on his shooting ability (and range).
Long Range Potential: Athletic, project big man with upside.
