The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired guard Kevin Porter Jr., a second-round draft pick in 2027 and a second-round draft pick in 2028 from the Houston Rockets for guard Victor Oladipo and center/forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. |
Porter closed Sunday's 117-106 loss to the Rockets with 19 points (8-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, six assists and two steals in 37 minutes.
Per head coach Ty Lue on Saturday, Porter (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against Houston, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
A dominant high school player out of the state of Washington (Rainier Beach High School), he has excellent speed and the ability to run the floor with aplomb. Shoots the three-ball fairly well, though he needs to become more efficient in that department. Can create his own shot but lacks optimum strength for the National Basketball Association game. Therefore, he needs to get stronger in order to maximize output at the highest level. Could also stand to improve his passing skills.
Long Range Potential: Offensive-minded wing player.
