Mattison is signing with the Dolphins, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
His calculated running style may appear to compensate for a relatively modest skill set but he gets where he needs to go--most of the time. A terrific all-around athlete with wrestling and track credits in college, he has proven rugged enough to handle every-down duty while also contributing to the passing game as a release option out of the backfield. Typically waits for his blocking to set up; he hits the hole with conviction and approaches defenders head on. Could enhance his longevity odds by minimizing major collisions. Also, he is one gear short of being a true burner.
Long Range Potential: Tough, versatile running back with upside.
