The Browns placed McLeod (biceps) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced Monday that McLeod will require season-ending surgery to address the biceps injury he suffered in Sunday's 13-10 win over the Steelers, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
A tough and durable all-around defender, he roams freely throughout the secondary in coverage and provides a second level of run support. Quick and instinctive in reading in the play, he possesses excellent closing speed and airtight tackling skills with a propensity for the big hit (he makes a habit of driving through the ball, thus creating turnovers and momentum changes). Is also an esteemed team leader and can be a special teams playmaker, too.
