In a three-way trade, the Columbus Blue Jackets acquired defenseman Ivan Provorov from the Philadelphia Flyers; Philadelphia acquired defensemen Sean Walker and Helge Grans, goaltender Cal Petersen and a second-round draft pick in 2024 from the Los Angeles Kings, and a first-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 22 overall) and a conditional second-round draft pick in 2024 from the Blue Jackets; and Los Angeles acquired defenseman Kevin Connauton and forward Hayden Hodgson from the Flyers. |

Grans recorded an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating over 16:11 of ice time in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche.
Has National Hockey League size and his right-handed shot is added value at the highest level. Moves the puck reasonably well and is a solid defender who uses his long stick effectively against attacking forwards. Skates very well for his size. Can log a ton of minutes at any level. While he is rather adept at joining the rush, he needs to learn how to pick his spots better; he often gets caught up ice due to bad pinches. Also lacks a bit of hockey sense, which prevents him from becoming a true No. 1 defenseman in the NHL.
Long Range Potential: Big, smooth minute-munching defenseman with upside.
