Blomqvist was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
Blomqvist gave up three goals on eight shots before being replaced by Alex Nedeljkovic midway through the first period of Monday's 7-1 loss to the Stars.
Has exceptional quickness, especially when moving side to side. Therefore, he is hard to beat on plays in tight. Also displays the cool, calm demeanor that is required to excel between the posts. Has a tendency to come up with big saves at important moments and never quicks on a play. Can make the circus save look routine. His weakness is his tendency to play too small in the net, despite good size. Needs to do a better job of playing more upright so as to avoid teams exploiting him upstairs.
Long Range Potential: Talented, ultra-quick goaltender with upside.
