Zellweger was drafted 34th overall by the Ducks at the 2021 NHL Draft on Saturday.
Scouting Report
The smallish defenseman is an effortless skater who is constantly in motion, with or without the puck. He thinks and plays the game at a fast pace. Is willing to block shots and swallow up puck carriers in the neutral zone, and he is terrific at escaping his own zone. Can run a power play with aplomb, too. Adding more bulk and keeping up with the more physical aspects of the NHL will be his constant challenges.
Long Range Potential: Talented offensive defenseman.
