Burroughs was scratched for Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Blackhawks, the seventh time in the last eight games he's sat out.
Burroughs was acquired by the Kings from the Sharks on Thursday in exchange for Carl Grundstrom.
The journeyman spent six seasons in the minors (after being selected in the seventh round of the 2013 draft) before finally seeing the ice in the NHL for the first time. He got there because he is willing to play a physical game and step up for his teammates when needed, despite only average size. Having realized his NHL dream, he plays every shift like he has no intention of giving it up.
