Eriksson Ek (lower body) is off injured reserve, per the NHL media site, which sets the stage for his return Wednesday versus San Jose.
Head coach John Hynes said that he's "hopeful" that Eriksson Ek (lower body) will be able to return Wednesday against the Sharks, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports.
The big, strong two-way center is seeing his offensive numbers catch up with his already-proficient defensive skills. His vision and ability to make things happen are improving, although he is not a mainstay on the power play. His balance of skill and the ability to play well at both ends of the ice figure to earn him more playing time as he enters the prime of his career. He is also good at riling up opponents.
