Dunn and the Kraken agreed to a four-year, $29.4 million extension on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Dunn recorded an assist, two blocked shots and 10 PIM in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Stars in Game 3.
The mobile defenseman can succeed in today's NHL because he has the offensive skills and puck-moving ability to thrive in a system that pushes the tempo. He drives play, meaning that the puck is usually going the right way when he is on the ice. He is effective on the power play, partly because of his big shot, but is not much of a physical presence in his own zone. Therefore, he is not an asset when killing penalties.
