Samuelsson (lower body), as expected, was designated for injured reserve Wednesday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Samuelsson (lower body) is considered week-to-week, the Sabres announced Wednesday.
The son of former towering NHL defenseman Kjell Samuelsson, he boasts a similar, stay-at-home game (with strong defensive acumen). Can play a physical brand of hockey and also displays a little offensive upside. Much like his father, he will never be the main power-play point man on his team at the National Hockey League level. Also, he needs to keep his discipline in check so as to avoid taking too many bad penalties in the NHL.
Long Range Potential: Big, solid shutdown defenseman with some upside.
