Ekholm scored a shorthanded goal on two shots and added three hits in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
Ekholm recorded an assist, four shots on goal and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kraken.
Is not the most physical defenseman in the NHL despite his size, but he does a lot of other things effectively to keep the puck out of his team's net. He moves the puck well, has a big shot and knows how and where to move the puck. Is capable of playing huge minutes, especially on the penalty kill. He is not flashy, but does not make a lot of mistakes. He is as low-maintenance as they come.
Long Range Potential: Reliable, rock-solid defenseman.
