Luukkonen (undisclosed) isn't expected to play in Monday's road game against Seattle, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Luukkonen was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate and will defend the home crease versus Pittsburgh on Friday, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.
Has the excellent, projectable frame (6-4) National Hockey League scouts look for from the goaltending position. Is quite athletic and relies on quickness and reflexes. Handles the puck with aplomb. Moves well for his size. Needs to fill out his big frame in order to maximize output in the National Hockey League. At times, he does not take full advantage of his size and looks a bit too small in the net. Must also learn shooters' tendencies more.
Long Range Potential: Big, talented goaltender with upside.
