Atlanta sent Herget (shoulder) to its Florida Complex League affiliate Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.
Atlanta placed Herget on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right shoulder inflammation, retroactive to Thursday.
Has a very deceptive delivery which, coupled with his fastball-sinker-slider combination, causes a lot of problems for batters. His sidearm action leads to plenty of strikeouts, as well. Owns a projectable frame, too. Must prove he can get left-handed hitters out with regularity at the highest level, since his arsenal is mostly designed to get right-handed batters out. So, his changeup must improve to maximize output.
Long Range Potential: Quirky, quality reliever with some upside.
