Andersen will defend the home crease against the Maple Leafs on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Andersen stopped 14 of 17 shots in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers, with New York's final goal getting scored into an empty net.
The first NHL goaltender born in Denmark knows how to put wins on the board: he was the fourth-fastest netminder in league history to earn 200 victories and could double that total before he is through. He is big and strong, takes up a lot of net and, at his best, rarely gives shooters much space. He has to prove he can stay healthy over longer stretches and is probably best in a market where he is not in the spotlight constantly.
