Benning was traded from the Sharks to the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, along with a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick, in exchange for Timothy Liljegren.
Scouting Report
The veteran defenseman is at his best when he does not try to do too much and he limits his mistakes, since he is not especially strong in any one area. He can move the puck adequately and has the size to be effective in his own zone. He makes a good complement for any type of defensive partner.
Long Range Potential: Useful depth defenseman.
