SETH CURRY FOR JOSH RICHARDSON
The Philadelphia 76ers acquired guard Seth Curry from the Dallas Mavericks for guard/forward Josh Richardson and a second-round draft pick in 2020 (Tyler Bey).
What does it give the Philadelphia 76ers
This trade should benefit both clubs. For Philadelphia, adding Curry gives them a terrific outside shooter who can light it up when he gets going. He might be used as a sixth man off the bench, since he can play both guard positions, or the 76ers might slide him next to playmaker Ben Simmons. Either way, Curry should help the Sixers in 2020-21.
What does it give the Dallas Mavericks
In Richardson, the Mavericks land a solid defender with length. He will likely play on a wing in Dallas. While not as prolific as Curry, Richardson can also shoot the outside. Bey was the draft selection involved in this deal, and he too might help Dallas immediately if they decide to sign him. He is an athletic forward who can rebound and leap.
Fantasy impact
Both Curry and Richardson should continue to hold solid fantasy value. SInce the Sixers lack proven shooters, Curry will probably benefit a lot from this trade. As for Bey, he is off the fantasy radar for the time being. However, keep an eye on him in the preseason.
