What does it give the Boston Bruins
Boyes could be the ideal second-line center for Joe Thornton down the road. In fact, he may be able to step into the role next season, while Michael Nylander heads back to Europe. Delmore replaces Jillson's offensive upside--and defensive limitations.
What does it give the San Jose Sharks
In Brown, the Sharks get a more proven pivot than AHL scorer Boyes, who went to Boston. Brown is a two-way performer that has been toiling on the fourth line in Buffalo this season. While he may still play fourth-line minutes with the Sharks, he'll see his ice time increase. He'll also be a sound penalty-killer for San Jose.
What does it give the
In Jillson, the Sabres add another right-handed defenseman--following the acquisition of Brad Brown. Jillson's upside is still high, and he may get a chance to shine with the Sabres. However, he won't provide much of an impact in the short term.
