DAVISON TO ISLANDERS
The New York Islanders acquired defenseman Rob Davison from the San Jose Sharks for a seventh-round draft pick in 2008.
What does it give the New York Islanders
Davison could be a part-time enforcer for the Isles, but he may also be
needed as blueline depth. Either way, his versatility should come in
handy down the stretch. Davison may ultimately succeed Chris Simon as
the team's principle tough guy.
What does it give the San Jose Sharks
The Sharks had little use for Davison anymore, especially since the
acquisition of Jody Shelley. Therefore, getting a late-round pick in
return for the little-used Davison is a solid return.
