CHICAGO, EDMONTON SWAP FOUR

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired forward Drake Caggiula and defenseman Jason Garrison from the Edmonton Oilers for defensemen Brandon Manning and Robin Norell.

What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
In Caggiula, the Blackhawks add a versatile forward who is still only 24 years of age. He can add a little offense to Chicago's attack, so he is a nice addition at this time. Veteran blueliner Garrison will provide depth, replacing Manning in a similar role.

What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers continue to revamp the blueline with this trade. Manning will likely serve a bottom-pairing or depth role in Edmonton, while Norell is a 23-year-old Swede currently playing in the SHL for Djurgardens IF. The Oil may try to bring him to North America at some point.

Fantasy impact
Caggiula should see a little more ice time with Chicago than what he was receiving in Edmonton this season, so his fantasy prospects are on the upswing. Consider him a fantasy dark horse for the rest of 2018-19. Garrison and Manning have little value, as both are depth defensemen at this point, while Norell needs to return to North America before becoming a fantasy factor in keeper leagues once again.
