McCORMICK FOR BEAUDIN

The Colorado Avalanche acquired forward Max McCormick from the Ottawa Senators for forward J.C. Beaudin.

What does it give the Colorado Avalanche
This trade is significantly less impactful than the last one made by these two clubs (the Matt Duchene/Kyle Turris, three-team swap that also included Nashville). McCormick is a depth forward who might see time with Colorado down the stretch--without much fanfare.

What does it give the Ottawa Senators
In Beaudin, the Senators add a 21-year-old forward (he turns 22 next month) who was selected 71st overall in 2015. He was a pretty good scorer in the QMJHL but has struggled to produce in the pro ranks. Perhaps a change of scenery, and possibly a better opportunity, with the Senators organization, can jump-start him.

Fantasy impact
There is nothing to see here. McCormick is a depth player at the NHL level, while Beaudin is still adjusting to life in the professional hockey ranks.
