FLORIDA PICKS UP PU

The Florida Panthers acquired forward Cliff Pu from the Florida Panthers for future considerations.

What does it give the Florida Panthers
In Pu, the Panthers land a forward who has not done much as a pro yet but is still just 20 years old (he turns 21 in June). Florida is obviously still hopeful that Pu can turn into an NHL player over time. A third-round draft pick in 2016 (No. 69 overall), Pu is a versatile forward who is now with his third organization in less than a year.

What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes
Pu, who was sent to the Hurricanes organization in the Jeff Skinner trade, has seen time in both the AHL and ECHL this season. The Hurricanes made an AHL-level deal for former NHLer Tomas Jurco, who had been playing with Florida's AHL affiliate in Springfield. So, the Pu move is linked to that deal.

Fantasy impact
There is nothing to see here, as Pu is too far away from the NHL to be talked about as a fantasy prospect at this time.
