EDMONTON ADDS ENNIS
The Edmonton Oilers acquired winger Tyler Ennis from the Ottawa Senators for a fifth-round draft pick in 2021.
What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers have been busy in the day leading up to the trade deadline, adding defenseman Mike Green, forward Andreas Athanasiou and now Ennis. A serviceable winger who can play up and down the lineup, Ennis should help Edmonton's depth scoring down the stretch.
What does it give the Ottawa Senators
The Senators have done well to sell off their assets at this year's deadline, with Ennis being the latest example. Acquired as a UFA last summer, Ennis produced solid numbers in Ottawa this season. So, getting a fifth in '21 for him is pretty decent asset management here.
Fantasy impact
Ennis should be considered a fantasy sleeper now that he has moved from Ottawa to Edmonton. While his ice time may be reduced as an Oiler, he might also get an opportunity to play with either Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl. So, keep an eye on Ennis early on as an Oiler to see how he is being used. Pounce on him if he becomes a top-six winger there.
