SHARROW TO CHICAGO

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired defenseman Jim Sharrow from the Vancouver Canucks for a conditional draft pick in 2009.

What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
Sharrow adds a little defensive depth to the Blackhawks from an organizational standpoint. However, he'll continue to toil in the AHL until further notice.

What does it give the Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks are deep along the blueline, both with the big club and at AHL Manitoba. Therefore, they could afford to move Sharrow at this time. The conditional pick likely will depend on how much Sharrow plays for Chicago.
