BERRY TO NASHVILLE
The Nashville Predators acquired defenseman Rick Berry from the Phoenix Coyotes for future considerations.
What does it give the Nashville Predators
Berry adds organizational depth for the Preds, and he may be a candidate to serve as the No. 7 defenseman later in the year if something happens to Jamie Allison. With several quality young defenseman in the organization, Berry will be limited to reserve duty.
What does it give the Phoenix Coyotes
The Coyotes have been the most active team in the early part of 2005-06, and dealing Berry continues the house-cleaning. He wasn't going to move any higher on the depth chart, so the Coyotes did the right thing in moving Berry.
