SABRES LAND TELLQVIST

The Buffalo Sabres acquired goaltender Mikael Tellqvist from the Phoenix Coyotes for a fourth-round draft pick in 2010.

What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
With Ryan Miller currently injured, Tellqvist should push Patrick Lalime for playing time immediately. He may even have more upside as Miller's backup upon the latter's return. This is excellent insurance for the Sabres down the stretch.

What does it give the Phoenix Coyotes
A fourth-round pick is decent value in an almost non-existent goalie market, and dealing Tellqvist allows the Coyotes to further evaluate AHL netminder Josh Tordjman, who doesn't have anything left to prove in the minors.
