SENS LAND TURRIS IN 3-PLAYER SWAP

The Ottawa Senators acquired center Kyle Turris from the Phoenix Coyotes for defenseman David Rundblad and a second-round draft pick in 2012.

What does it give the Ottawa Senators
In Turris, the Sens add another offensive piece to the puzzle. They've been searching for a second-line center for a while, so that is now the job for Turris. He should shine under coach Paul MacLean, a pure scorer in his day. The Sens gave up a lot to secure Turris, so clearly they're sky-high on his upside.

What does it give the Phoenix Coyotes
This is a good move for Phoenix, since clearly Turris didn't want to remain with the Coyotes organization. His style clashed with coach Dave Tippett, so GM Don Maloney did well to net two quality assets. Rundblad should eventually be a big addition but, for now, won't make much of an impact. The second rounder is a huge bonus here.
