HINOSTROZA HEADS BACK TO CHICAGO
The Chicago Blackhawks acquired winger Vinnie Hinostroza from the Florida Panthers for center Brad Morrison.
What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks are quite familiar with Hinostroza, since they drafted him in 2012. He played three seasons in Chicago (his hometown) before moving to Arizona and then Florida. He will add some depth to a squad that has been ravaged by long-term injuries up front this season.
What does it give the Florida Panthers
The Panthers dumped salary here, plain and simple. Hinostroza was not playing much with Florida, so they sent his contract to Chicago in exchange for minor-league center Morrison (who is not expected to ever lace up his skates for the Cats). Morrison is mainly an ECHL talent.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Hinostroza will continue to be a role player in Chicago (while Morrison will likely be assigned to the East Coast Hockey League once again).
