The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired forward Riley Nash from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2022.

What does it give the Toronto Maple Leafs
In Nash, the Maple Leafs get a decent defensive forward who can line up at all three forward positions. He will likely play a depth role for Toronto down the stretch and in the Stanley Cup playoffs. For now, he remains on Injured Reserve.

What does it give the Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets will receive a seventh-rounder in '22 in this deal, but it might turn into a sixth-rounder if Nash plays 25 percent of Toronto's postseason games this year. Expect Columbus to trade awa more veterans before this year's trade deadline.

Fantasy impact
Nash was mostly acquired for his defensive skills, not his fantasy appeal. Therefore, the role player can continue to be safely ignored in virtually all fantasy formats.
