FLYERS-PREDS SWAP
The Philadelphia Flyers acquired forward Josh Gratton from the Nashville Predators for defensemen Tim Ramholt.
What does it give the Philadelphia Flyers
Gratton, a former Flyer, will likely challenge Riley Cote for the main enforcer role in Philly going forward. For now, he'll remain in the AHL, moving from Milwaukee to Philadelphia. He has more upside than Cote as a player but isn't as tough as the Flyers' resident tough guy.
What does it give the Nashville Predators
Ramholt gives the Preds a little more blueline depth. He's more of a stay-at-home defenseman, which has been in short supply within the Nashville organization for quite some time. That said, Ramholt will remain in the AHL for the time being.
