DEVILS RE-ACQUIRE ARNOTT

The New Jersey Devils acquired center Jason Arnott from the Nashville Predators for winger Matt Halischuk and a second-round draft pick in 2011.

What does it give the New Jersey Devils
The Devils were forced to move Patrik Elias to center last season because they lacked a true No. 2 option behind Travis Zajac. Arnott will be that second-line pivot in 2010-11. He will likely be reunited with Elias in New Jersey. Arnott's best days in the NHL were as a Devil, so the club is hoping he has at least one more good season left in him.

What does it give the Nashville Predators
Halischuk is an industrious winger who should fit in perfectly with the style Barry Trotz like to play in Nashville. The Preds also picked up a 2011 second rounder in this deal, while freeing up some room on the salary cap. Look for Colin Wilson to inherit Arnott's first-line center role in Nashville, moving over from left wing.
