LINDSTROM TO ANAHEIM

The Anaheim Ducks acquired winger Joakim Lindstrom from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a conditional draft pick in 2009.

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks are taking a chance that Lindstrom can finally maximize his scoring potential at the NHL level. The pick going the other way depends on how much Lindstrom plays with Anaheim, so expect him to either make the team and get a legitimate chance to produce or be dispatched to either the AHL or Europe.

What does it give the Columbus Blue Jackets
The Jackets added wingers Kristian Huselius and Raffi Torres in the off-season, and are also hoping top prospects Jakub Voracek and Nikita Filatov are ready to make the jump to the NHL. Therefore, there wasn't a lot of room on the wing for Lindstrom, so the Jackets tired of waiting for him to develop into a capable top-six winger. The draft pick will be between rounds 4 and 7.
