SABRES GET RAFFI TORRES

The Buffalo Sabres acquired winger Raffi Torres from the Columbus Blue Jackets for defenseman Nathan Paetsch and a second-round draft pick in 2010.

What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres added a gritty scoring winger in Torres, who should help their power play and bottom-six forward scoring situation. He's a potential unrestricted free agent that's not expected to stay in Buffalo, so this move is viewed as a playoff rental situation.

What does it give the Columbus Blue Jackets
The Jackets had to move Torres, since they would have lost him to unrestricted free agency this summer. Getting a second rounder is a nice return. Paetsch adds depth but doesn't figure to play a prominent role in Columbus. This was mainly a move to get a quality draft pick.
