The Seattle Kraken acquired winger Oliver Bjorkstrand from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a third-round draft pick in 2023 and a fourth-round draft pick in 2023.

In Bjorkstrand, the Kraken land a solid winger with good all-around instincts. He should play more minutes in Seattle and become one of the team's top scorers in 2022-23. He is a quality pickup for a team that needs upgrades everywhere on the roster.

What does it give the Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets needed to move out salary in order to re-sign restricted free agent Patrik Laine, so they chose to move out Bjorkstrand for two draft picks. Losing Bjorkstrand hurts, but Columbus has plenty of young talent up front to make up the difference.
