SABRES AND STARS SWAP AHL DEFENSEMEN

The Dallas Stars acquired defenseman Oskari Laaksonen from the Buffalo Sabres for defenseman Joesph Cecconi.

What does it give the Dallas Stars
In acquiring Laaksonen, the Stars are getting a more offensive defenseman than Cecconi. That said, he will have to improve in his own end if he wants to play regularly in the NHL.

What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
A fifth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Cecconi is a 6'3" defenseman known more for his defensive work. This trade could be a good change of scenery for him.
