STILLMAN SENT TO BUFFALO
The Buffalo Sabres acquired defenseman Riley Stillman from the Vancouver Canucks for forward Josh Bloom.
What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
Stillman is a nice addition for the Sabres. He plays a mostly defensive role, which is what Buffalo needs more of along the blueline. He is an upgrade over Jacob Bryson and Kale Clague, and is also signed through 2023-24.
What does it give the Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks managed to get rid of a contract for next season in this deal, while also adding a forward prospect in Bloom. The latter should turn pro next season and could blossom into an NHL power forward in Vancouver.
Fantasy impact
Bloom should now be added in virtually all keeper leagues because he could get a major opportunity with Vancouver as early as next season. Stillman has little in the way of fantasy value.
