AVALANCHE ADD LARS ELLER
The Colorado Avalanche acquired forward Lars Eller from the Washington Capitals for a second-round draft pick in 2025.
What does it give the Colorado Avalanche
In Eller, the Avalanche get a solid two-way veteran forward who will probably play a third-line center role in Colorado. He has Stanley Cup championship pedigree, so he should fit in well with the defending champions.
What does it give the Washington Capitals
The Capitals continue to ship out pending UFAs, while banking more future assets. Eller is the latest. He had moved to wing recently to accommodate the team's surplus at center. Ultimately, Eller was expendable.
Fantasy impact
Eller's fantasy stock could rise moving to Colorado, since he will likely play his natural position (center) and may even see more minutes down the stretch. He may be worth picking up in the deepest of leagues.
