BOSTON GETS BERTUZZI

The Boston Bruins acquired winger Tyler Bertuzzi from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional first-round draft pick in 2024 and a fourth-round draft pick in 2025.

What does it give the Boston Bruins
The rich get richer here, as Bertuzzi is another scoring winger for Boston's impressive forward group. He is likely to play on the third line, which will strengthen the fourth line even more as well. The Bruins now have everything needed to compete for the Stanley Cup this year.

What does it give the Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings are selling assets while maintaining enough talent to compete for a playoff spot. They moved Filip Hronek to Vancouver earlier, and now send Bertuzzi to Boston. However, it is a little bit surprising that Detroit sent Bertuzzi to a division rival.

Fantasy impact
Bertuzzi's power-play time and overall minutes should take a hit playing third-line minutes in Beantown, so he may not make a huge impact as a Bruin (unless he re-signs in the off-season). This is a good time to trade Bertuzzi in fantasy circles.
