BJUGSTAD BROUGHT IN BY EDMONTON

The Edmonton Oilers acquired forward Nick Bjugstad and defenseman Cam Dineen from the Arizona Coyotes for defenseman Michael Kesselring and a third-round draft pick in 2023.

What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
In Bjugstad, the Oilers are adding a right-handed shot who can play both center and wing. He has had a bit of a rebirth this season in Arizona, so he might provide good value to the Oil down the stretch. Dineen will provide defensive depth.

What does it give the Arizona Coyotes
Kesselring was the Oilers' leading blueline scorer at the AHL level this season (49 GP, 13-9-22 for Bakersfield). He has tremendous size, too. He is a nice addition to the Coyotes for the future, as is the third-rounder in '23. Arizona is all about the future at this time.

Fantasy impact
Bjugstad will probably play a fourth-line center role in Edmonton, with some penalty-killing duties. Despite the high-octane offense he is joining, he does not need to be added in most fantasy leagues. Kesselring has a bit of keeper appeal, and could have a much better NHL opportunity in Arizona going forward. Dineen has no fantasy value.
