LEWIS TO NASHVILLE

The Nashville Predators acquired defenseman Grant Lewis from the Atlanta Thrashers for winger Ian McKenzie.

What does it give the Nashville Predators
This was a classic change-of-scenery deal. Lewis is probably now in a deeper pool of defense prospects with the Preds, so he will likely remain in the AHL for the foreseeable future.

What does it give the Atlanta Thrashers
McKenzie is a huge physical specimen who has yet to develop a game to match it. However, new Thrashers GM Rick Dudley likes projects and outside-the-box talent, so McKenzie has a chance.
