MINNESOTA MOVES FOR MAROON

The Minnesota Wild acquired forwards Pat Maroon and Maxim Cajkovic from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a seventh-round draft pick in 2024.

What does it give the Minnesota Wild
Maroon is a classic glue guy in the locker room and should fit right into the Wild's identity on the ice. The Wild will look for him to replace Ryan Reaves' toughness and physicality on the fourth line. Cajkovic played in the ECHL last season.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay continues to shed salary in hopes of creating cap space to sign their restricted free agents and/or make an addition. They will retain $200,000 (20%) of Maroon's contract for the 2023-24 season.

Fantasy impact
While Maroon is a great player to have in the locker room, he is not the best option in fantasy leagues at this point of his career. As for Cajkovic, there is nothing to see here. Pass.
