BEN MEYERS TO THE DUCKS
The Anaheim Ducks acquired forward Ben Meyers from the Colorado Avalanche for a fifth-round draft pick in 2024.
What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks are sellers at this year's trade deadline as a club in the midst of a massive rebuilding plan. However, Meyers was added as a depth forward. The organization obviously likes him as a player, and the team will need more help up front moving forward. Still, the timing of this deal is a bit strange.
What does it give the Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche have added several players before this year's deadline, including a few depth forwards. Therefore, Meyers was deemed expendable at this time. Colorado did well to acquire a fifth-rounder for Meyers because the latter was never going to make an impact in Denver.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Meyers could solidify a depth forward role with Anaheim in the near future. However, he is a limited fantasy forward. Pass.
