DEWAR DEALT TO TORONTO
The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired forward Connor Dewar from the Minnesota Wild for forward Dmitry Ovchinnikov and a fourth-round draft pick in 2026.
What does it give the Toronto Maple Leafs
Dewar is a good defensive forward who has more offensive ability than current fourth-line center David Kampf. Dewar might also be an option on the wing. He should help Toronto as a role player down the stretch.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
The Wild did well to get a fourth-rounder for Dewar, who is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer. Minnesota has to start incorporating more offensive players up front, so this makes sense.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Dewar is a depth forward at the National Hockey League level. Ovchinnikov is also a long shot to become a fantasy factor.
