WILD, DEVILS SWAP MINOR-LEAGUE RFA'S
The Minnesota Wild acquired winger Graeme Clarke from the New Jersey Devils for forward Adam Beckman.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
Clarke is a Minnesota native, so he should feel comfortable heading home. A natural right-winger who can also play on the left side, Clarke could get a shot at cracking the roster if he has a very strong training camp.
What does it give the New Jersey Devils
Like Clarke, Beckman is a restricted free agent this summer. He is arguably a bit more versatile than Clarke since he can play center and wing (although he is more of a winger at the NHL level). Beckman is a good depth move.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here (for now). Both Clarke and Beckman have a better chance for regular NHL minutes with their new organizations, but still have a long way to go in fantasy terms. Pass on both.
